Are you asking yourself what makes a good website?
Here are a few things you should keep in mind.
The word is out, and by now you've heard the news... All Facebook Pages Become Facebook Timelines on March 30! and that brands can now benefit by the timelines on their Facebook fan pages.
So what does this mean? This means we can now present our business or brand using creative cover photos and placing information by milestones throughout our brand's history. We can further customize our content by pinning and highlighting posts.
In the world of inbound marketing the importance of blogging has always been stressed. However, the subject of whether all businesses should have a blog keeps raising its ugly head. Just recently I read several good blog articles strongly suggesting that all businesses should blog with many of the comments to those articles disagreeing. Makes for very interesting reading if nothing else. While I can't definitively say that all businesses should blog, I do think that those who have blogged with the intent of educating their customers, have experienced a positive impact on their business. I'm all for positive impacts on business
During my years of designing websites and working with content management systems, I have read many blog posts, bulletin board posts, whitepapers etc. discussing the pros and cons of various content management systems. Some like Joomla, some like Drupal, some like Geeklog, and then there's the many who recommend WordPress (although I see WordPress as blog software not a true CMS).
Mixed in, is a whole host of other CMS packages that are either off the shelf or custom designed. All you have to do is post on any of the social media sites for someone to recommend a good CMS and you will see what I mean. I have tried many of these coming away frustrated. If I, who have HTML and programming skills find these difficult to work with, it's hard to believe that an unskilled user would find them easy-to-use or at all beneficial.
The time has finally come for us to practice what we preach and start blogging about what we believe to be an exciting method of marketing and the tools we are offering that will hopefully prove to be a useful resource to our clients, fans and other readers.
